Colonial Series Overview
Liberty’s Colonial Series of full-sized gun safes come in four models:
- Colonial 23
- Colonial 30
- Colonial 50
- Colonial 50 Extreme
Depending on the size you choose and your guns’ accessories, you can store between 25-64 long guns in your Colonial gun safe.
Colonial’s Security Features
The Colonial has the unique security features Liberty Safe has introduced to the safe industry. It is certified as a UL-listed Residential Security Container (RSC-8M10).
As a full-size gun-safe, the Colonial’s 11-gauge steel body has been constructed from high-quality rolled steel using Liberty’s innovative uni-body process that decreases the number of welds needed. Its 1-inch composite door is equipped with up to 10 ¼ "-thick, 4"-wide, military-style locking bars spread throughout all four sides.
Additional security features include:
- Direct Cam-Drive locking mechanism with Slip Clutch Technology
- Internal and external spring-loaded relockers
- Triple RC63 Hardplate Lock Guards
- UL-Listed S&G™ 6741 Mechanical Lock (standard) with the option to upgrade to UL-listed SecuRam BackLit Electronic Lock
Colonial’s Fire Protection Features
Not all mid-range gun safes offer both security and fire protection. Liberty Safe’s Colonial does. It is fire-rated for up to 60 minutes of protection at 1200°F because of its design and materials, such as:
- 2 interlocking layers of UL-rated fireboard in its walls
- 3 interlocking layers of UL-rated fireboard in its door, door jambs and ceiling
- Heat-activated, expanding Palusol door seal that keeps fire, heat and smoke out
Colonial’s Added Features
It’s terrific to buy a safe based on its ability to protect your firearms and valuables from theft and fire, but you also want it to look great. The Colonial will work with any décor. Liberty Safe has up to 10 different exterior finish and interior fabric color combinations.
Colonial models come standard with Liberty’s SureTight Handle, 3-in-1 Flex™ Interior and economy-style interior door panel. If you choose the Extreme 50 model, the interior is upgraded to the 6-in-1 Flex™ Interior and a 10-pack rifle rods starter kit.
